Martin, Takahashi Sensei & Sachiyo. On 7th, 8th and 9th Feb 2003, the NZKF held a final selection shiai weekend for members of the NZ squad trying out for the 12th WKC. Takahashi sensei (7th dan, Kyoto Police, 1994 WKC Champion, 2000 WKC Japan Team Captain) was in attendance throughout the weekend. At the end of the weekend, 6 of the 11 members selected for the NZ team were from the Rembuden Kendo Club - Loreena, Gerard, Martin, Sachiyo, Marianna and Julia.
